It Came from the Sketchbook!

Shapeshifter I was thinking of formalizing the posts to Willceau Illo News by making regular features. I want to make Monday It Came From The Sketchbook day and post some doodles Tina or I made in a sketchbook and forgot about. So, until I change my mind, today is It Came From The Sketchbook day.

I forgot about this drawing – I’m not sure of the date. It’s from some time between 1991 and 1993. I forgot about the drawing, but the idea was for a werewolf type of creature. I wanted to get away from the wolf idea and have my guy turn into a hellish, demonic type of character. You watch a Discovery Channel special on wolves, and it kind of steals the thunder from a wolf-man. I wanted my monster to be monstrous – truly evil.

I like this drawing, and I may take a crack at finishing this critter.

Update/Addendum (whatever): I sort of remembered the origin of this sketch. The Cramps had a song called Goo Goo Muck which was one of their rock-a-billy horror masterpieces about a monster prowling moonlit streets. This was one of my attempts at drawing that creature which I thought would be cooler than a mere werewolf.
