Brick Path Quilt

This was my first attempt at quilting, a gift for a new addition to the family. I wanted to create a one of a kind piece that was cheery, with bold patterns, and no pastel colors. Since the sex of the baby was unknown, I chose orange and green as the dominate colors.

The quilt is a small version of Amy Butler’s Brick Path Quilt. It measures 35″ x 42″ and features fabrics from Michael Miller, Amy Butler, Denyse Schmidt, Park Slope, and Prints Charming. In order to visualize the arrangement of pattern and color, I scanned the fabric and created thumbnail sketches to scale on my computer. It was machine quilted over the course of a few afternoons.

This is fabulous Tina! I love everything about it, the colors the fabric patterns and the brick piecing pattern. Bravo!

Thanks Nancy! It took longer to design than to sew, there are at least fifteen different versions of the final sketch in the notebook!
