Children of the Corn
One of John B. Capewell’s brothers ran a farm and corn must have been one of his crops. This is a photograph of John’s sons, John, Jr. standing and Henry O. seated on the lodge pole chair.
Pouch for Eyeglass Wipes
Here is more printing on fabric with Golden Digital Grounds. This time I made a simple pouch to hold eyeglass wipes for a special someone who got his first pair of spectacles over the weekend.
Deluxe Rice Krispie Treats
Rice Krispie treats with jimmies – who can resist? I found this recipe via gimme some oven. It uses the usual ingredients – marshmallows, cereal, and butter – but adds jimmies  for color and dry cake mix for flavor. I … Continue reading

Compu-Guys Design
I was looking through some old sketchbooks and came across this scribble I made back in August of 1998. It may have been a preliminary sketch for There’s No Escape From a Deadline, but I’m not sure.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Bars
A new school year begins and I’m gearing up for the bake sales! I’ve been testing out a few new recipes to go beyond the usual cupcake and brownie route. These were easy to throw together and are very rich … Continue reading
Horribly Realistic!
There was a long period in comics where you could always count on ads featuring either fake vomit or artificial dog droppings. I always wondered where this sort of stuff was made. Was it a factory that specialized in novelty … Continue reading

Market-Frankford El Headed for Frankford
I timed this shot just right. I saw the train coming around the bend, so I put my camera on a 10 second timer and hoped for the best. Lucky shot. I caught the train just as it pulled in.
