Smile for the Camera…Oh, never mind.

I’m guessing, but this looks to be John B. Capewell’s brother-in-law, niece who showed up in last week’s photo and sister. It looks like they’re shot in the same room as last week’s shot only this trio is a little more appropriately dressed for a family portrait than last week’s quartet.

Capewell must have gotten a new flash or indoor lighting rig that he was dying to try out and used family members as his test subjects. I wonder if he was toying with the idea of doing portrait photography as a business or a sideline.

Here is the entire 7 inch by 5 inch glass negative:

As with all of the photographs in the Capewell Collection Glass Negative Collection,  I placed this 5 inch x 7 inch glass negative on a lightbox and shot it with a digital camera locked down on a tripod. The processing was done digitally on a Mac using Adobe Photoshop.
