Looking South – Ridgeway Raptor

An unusually cool day at the end of July, brought an unusual visitor to our urban landscape. At the Ridgeway Pool on 13th & Carpenter, this fellow was pointed out to me sitting on the branch of one of the mighty shade trees surrounding the city pool. We were lucky to see it, he stayed on his perch for quite a while, affording me the opportunity to take these pictures. Generally, we see squirrels and pigeons in the city, we have seen the occasional possum, but this mighty bird is something we don’t see every day.

Thank you, he spent a good amount of time on that branch, giving me plenty of time to get some shots. Gorgeous bird!
