The Murphy House – Westville, New Jersey Circa 1982

Park N' Eat

Here’s another image from my stash of art school negatives, but this time we skip across the Delaware River to the town of Westville, New Jersey. This is a shot of a greasy spoon called the Murphy House. It was closed and looking for a buyer at the time which it never did find. Eventually it was demolished which is a shame. It looks like a set from an old movie. Maybe Janet Leigh stopped there on the way to the Bates Motel.

I worked there when I was a kid. Did my play than work. I was friends with the owners daughter

Thanks so much for commenting, Carole! I was hoping somebody would come along who knew about these places I shot!
