Potato Chip Cookies

You heard right folks, Potato Chip Cookies, the perfect combo of sweet and salty! Paula Deen finally returned the butter she borrowed a few weeks ago, poor thing hasn’t been the same since she got smacked in the head with a frozen ham a few years back. Anyway, she stopped by yesterday with the Land O’Lakes and one of her butter flavored lip balms which bears the catchphrase “Put a little South on your mouth!”. *raises eyebrow*  Truth be told, I’d much prefer the fried chicken flavor, ah well, beggars can’t be choosers.

What was I talking about? Oh yeah, Potato Chip Cookies. Another fabulous recipe from Deb of Smitten Kitchen – and no, she’s not paying me to promote her site. The one problem I had with the recipe was the chips I sprinkled on top of the cookies fell off after I baked them. Maybe I should have smooshed them into the dough? Not to worry, I took her suggestion of dipping the cookies in chocolate and then sprinkled them with the chips. Problem solved, because as we all know, everything tastes better when it’s dipped in chocolate! These babies were worth tyin’ an apron on for. Trust.

Those cookies look great w/o the chips.

There are crumbled up chips in the cookie batter – it’s a lovely combo of sweet and salty!
