Joseph LaJeunesse

GreatGrandfather

The good news is there was writing on the back of this photo – Mr. Joseph LaJeunesse, 79 Grover Street, wake tonight. I guess “wake tonight” isn’t such good news, but at least there’s a name. I believe this may be my great-grandfather, although I may be debunked by one of my cousins. Still, I like the folded paper, 3D look of this portrait – it’s interesting how the photographers experimented. Original scan behind the cut.

That is interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those!

As much time as I spend rooting through bins of old photos in antique stores, I haven’t either.

Just saw this. Grove St. is parallel to Windham Road between Selden St. and Fairview St. I think our school bus used to loop around. Interesting to think that we may have gone by that house every day. Do you remember?

  4. Tina says:

It was Grover Street – he lived in Massachusetts.
