Lost and FOUND!

A little digging turned up the tear sheet featuring the shivering banana from yesterday’s post. It was for an article in the The Philadelphia Daily News titled “The secret life of food,” and it was published on August 28, 1996. I forgot all about this. It’s back when everybody read newspapers which had food sections, book sections and entertainment sections in addition to news and sports. Yes, the internet existed at the time, but it was thought to be a gimmick. Print ruled. The papers had budgets to pay freelancers and editors thought it was a great idea to break up all of that boring text with the occasional illustration. Bless their hearts.

It came at a good time. I was between jobs and was about to get married.
