Mesmerized by a Cheap Sketchbook

My love affair with a three-dollar sketchbook meant for the juvenile market continues as I find myself doodling in it regularly. I keep it within reach in case inspiration strikes and I have to jot down a note or scribble a drawing. Fortunately inspiration has been visiting me regularly, and I am attributing it to the Out of This World sketch pad with the glow-in-the-dark cover. There is some sort of magic baked into the pulp of its pages!

Over the decades I have amassed scraps, bits, pieces and scintillas of story ideas spread throughout a similarly chaotic collection of scraps of paper, sketchbooks or jotted down in the margins of notebooks. A lot of these notions collect dust in some corner of my cranium never to see the light of day. That is until now. These things are coming to life in what is probably my new Sketchbook from Heaven.

Stay tuned!

If it works, go for it!!!

The mystery to me is why it works. As I said in the post, there is something baked into that sketch-pad’s cheap pulp pages that makes magic. If I can’t find them this year, I may resort to making them.
