The Seventh Victim

No doodles this week because I have been making the mistake of watching quality entertainment that requires my strict attention. One of the movies I watched that made me set aside my cheap sketchbook was The Seventh Victim (1943) produced by the incomparable Val Lewton. I won’t tell you anything about it. Drink in this movie’s dream-like quality for yourself. Don’t watch a trailer. Just watch it. It’s free!

It’s one of those movies I would have hated when I was a kid because there are no monsters in it. If there was no stuntman stuffed into a rubber costume, I would lose patience and watch something else. Fortunately I came to my senses. I now see more in the shadows of this old black and white film than I do in billions of dollars squandered on special effects.
