\"\"<\/a>At first I thought these two were mother and daughter, but after looking at the photo for a while and consulting with Tina, we decided that these two are probably the sisters of John B. Capewell.<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Back in February, I posted a picture of John’s parents and siblings<\/a>. In a post last April,<\/a> Harry Chambers<\/strong> did some digging and provided me the names of the family although outside of John and his youngest sister, I’m not sure who is who, but I’m making guesses.
\n\"\"<\/a>In this picture, the woman is either Margaret, Caroline<\/strong> or Frances<\/strong>. The girl is Edna Lavinia Capewell<\/strong> also known as Honey.<\/em> They are seated in the lodgepole chair where John Capewell has shot many of his subjects. <\/em>They are probably in a portion of John’s yard in Westville, New Jersey.
\n<\/em><\/p>\n

This particular negative turned yellow over the years. When I inverted it in Photoshop, it turned this very pleasing shade of blue.<\/p>\n

Here’s a version of the negative where I did my regular procedure of adjusting the levels in the red, blue and green channels. It has color but it’s closer to a more neutral, black and white image.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As with all of the photographs in the\u00c2\u00a0Capewell Collection Glass Negative Collection<\/a><\/strong>,<\/strong><\/em>\u00c2\u00a0I placed this 5\u00e2\u20ac\u00b3 x 7\u00e2\u20ac\u00b3 glass negative on a lightbox and shot it with a digital camera locked down on a tripod. The\u00c2\u00a0\u00e2\u20ac\u0153processing\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0was done digitally on a Mac using\u00c2\u00a0Adobe Photoshop.<\/strong><\/p>\n
