He’s holding a spool of string in one hand and giving the string a tug with the other. The string is attached to the camera’s shutter release and thus the photographer gets to include himself in the family portrait.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As with all of the photographs in the Capewell Collection Glass Negative Collection<\/strong><\/a>,<\/strong><\/em> I placed this 5″ x 7″ glass negative on a lightbox and shot it with a digital camera locked down on a tripod. The “processing”<\/em> was done digitally on a Mac using\u00a0 Adobe Photoshop.<\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n
