I wanted a bag to take to the market with me on Saturdays, a bag big enough to hold produce, bread, and a side of beef – if I’m so inclined. This one fits the bill. I was running errands and hadn’t made it to the fabric district yet, but fortunately while in the hardware store I had a stroke of genuis……<\/p>\n

…a painter’s drop cloth! Why not? It’s 100% cotton, can be washed, and a 5′ x 5′ piece was a steal for eight bucks!<\/p>\n

I decided on a size, cut the cloth, stitched it up, then did a bit of freehand embroidery with some blue and green 20 lb. hemp cord. Finally, I attached turquoise nylon webbing for the straps. This bag took no time at all to make, and will double as my pool bag this summer.
