Everyone has them – old photos or negatives that are faded, shoved in drawers, scratched, or damaged. Fortunately, they can be restored!\u00a0<\/p>\n

\"Flaws\"<\/p>\n

One of the problems with this photo is the contrast – there are no absolute blacks and whites, and the women’s facial features are blown out. There are a few stains and some black specks.<\/p>\n

\"FlawsLevels\"<\/p>\n

I began by using Levels to adjust the intensity of the image’s shadows, highlights and midtones. The Rubber Stamp Tool erased the stains and specks.<\/p>\n

The last step was duplicating the layer and playing with the blending and opacity modes for the layer. A complete transformation!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
