The studio released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=hxzpPGypcX4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">four sequels<\/a> in the five years following the original, an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=ouH_BDwk6LY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">animated Saturday morning series<\/a>, and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Q-wCImOruQI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">live-action, prime time series<\/a>. Nowadays it takes five years to make one film and maybe release a single sequel. They weren&#8217;t resting on their laurels or perhaps they thought they were striking while the iron was hot. Eventually all five films were packed into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=4SVd-isHcT4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Go Ape<\/strong><\/em><\/a> marathon that played drive-ins. You got to love the &#8217;70s.<\/p>\n<p>On top of this, there were tee-shirts, beach towels, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=DmnVG1OEC7U\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">toys<\/a>, games, dolls, model kits and make-up kits so that kids could <em>de-evolve<\/em> at home. The Defenders featured the unlikely association of the rampaging Hulk, sorcerer supreme Dr. Strange and a revolving reserve of second and third string characters from Marvel&#8217;s licensing junk drawer. This issue also featured <em><strong>The Guardians of the Galaxy<\/strong> <\/em>which have some vague connection to the <strong>Guardians<\/strong> in Marvel&#8217;s box office smash, but I&#8217;m not sure what it is.
