This is Tina’s<\/strong> birthday card to me for 2010. It’s another one of her brilliant digital collages.<\/strong><\/em> Tina usually bases the card on whatever my current obsession may be (it seems there is never a shortage!) This year she’s ribbing me over my fixation with the Roku<\/strong><\/a> which is a sort-of TV tuner enabled by the internet.<\/p>\n

\"Netflix<\/a><\/p>\n

I bought the entry level, standard definition Roku<\/strong><\/a> box in order to watch Netflix’s streaming library on my old tube television set. As it turns out and much to my delight, the box offers a number of other streaming channels. A few of them offer public domain audio and video. I’ve been having a grand old time catching up on ancient schlock horror films and ancient TV shows. Refusing to get cable, I’ve been limping by with rabbit ears and virtually no reception for years. Things improved once broadcast TV went digital and I was able to receive channels like ThisTV<\/strong><\/a>. Now I’m in Hog Heaven with the closest thing I can think of being a la carte cable TV!<\/em><\/p>\n
