I was a dyed-in-the-wool horror fanatic at the time so I had a subscription to <em>Fangoria<\/em> magazine which was touting the non-slasher, <em>Invasion of the Body Snatcher<\/em>s knockoff <em>Halloween III. <\/em>The small change spread out along the table was all I had to live off of that week. Fortunately I had a coupon from <em>Roy Rogers<\/em> which meant fine dining at their establishment at 15th and Chestnut when I was feeling peckish between classes. There&#8217;s some color pencils with a <em>bitchin&#8217;<\/em> <strong>Thrush<\/strong> logo sticker, a lead pointer, keys, some doodles, French curves and a Philadelphia College of Art I.D. card all set upon a drafting table my Dad built for me while I was in Junior High School (I still have it and use it. <em>Thanks, Dad!<\/em>) It&#8217;s a completely pretentious arrangement, but now I find it an interesting picture of the time.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a title=\"German Dawn of the Dead Poster\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/15437573899\/in\/photolist-pwaATe-ppn8c1-8y2RvV-dFPdce-cUivmL-4T2BCx-4t1ZPJ-4tCHkt\" target=\"_blank\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3934\/15437573899_e98858d852_z.jpg?resize=640%2C386&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"German Dawn of the Dead Poster\" width=\"640\" height=\"386\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Another shot of my same South Jersey bedroom<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>The Photo Elective<\/h2>\n<p>Back in the 1980s, I went to art school, and I along with all of the other <strong>illustration majors<\/strong> were required to take a minor course in photography. We had to shoot the photos as well as process the negatives and make prints. I don\u2019t recall what the particulars of the class assignments were although I can tell from looking at the negatives which were the assignments and which ones were shot just to finish off a roll. The shots to finish a roll are a lot more interesting.
