{"id":2102,"date":"2010-12-22T13:21:55","date_gmt":"2010-12-22T18:21:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/willceau.com\/news\/?p=2102"},"modified":"2012-01-01T11:02:47","modified_gmt":"2012-01-01T16:02:47","slug":"the-lost-art-of-the-mix-tape-the-sausage-tape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/willceau.com\/news\/2010\/12\/22\/the-lost-art-of-the-mix-tape-the-sausage-tape\/","title":{"rendered":"The Lost Art of the Mix Tape &#8211; The Sausage Tape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a title=\"Sausage Tape by willceau, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/5235580829\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm6.static.flickr.com\/5207\/5235580829_50862e7ec8_z.jpg?resize=416%2C640\" alt=\"Sausage Tape\" width=\"416\" height=\"640\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This tape compilation comes not from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/brianbubonic\/\">Brian Bubonic<\/a>, but from the lovely and talented <strong>Tina Garceau!<\/strong> This tape had been compiled somewhat more haphazardly than my brother&#8217;s tape mixes, but this one was recorded from old 45 RPM records complete with hissing, scratches, pops and occasional skips! <!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Tina had an uncle who used to service jukeboxes meaning that Tina would wind up with a lot of well-worn vinyl. For a kid with one of those monaural record players in the late 60s\/early 70s it was like hitting a jackpot. Tina tried to recreate that collection on this tape so there&#8217;s a lot of bubblegum music and Motown like The Archies, The Hollies and the Supremes. It&#8217;s like hanging out with grade school friends and listening to their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/sets\/72157606914023639\/\">record collections<\/a>. Unfortunately, a playlist was never written out so I&#8217;ll have to give it a listen and add it as an addendum to this post.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Tina also crafted the collage that was <strong>The Sausage Tape&#8217;s<\/strong> cover.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This tape compilation comes not from Brian Bubonic, but from the lovely and talented Tina Garceau!
