This tape compilation comes not from Brian Bubonic<\/a>, but from the lovely and talented Tina Garceau!<\/strong> This tape had been compiled somewhat more haphazardly than my brother’s tape mixes, but this one was recorded from old 45 RPM records complete with hissing, scratches, pops and occasional skips! <\/p>\n

Tina had an uncle who used to service jukeboxes meaning that Tina would wind up with a lot of well-worn vinyl. For a kid with one of those monaural record players in the late 60s\/early 70s it was like hitting a jackpot. Tina tried to recreate that collection on this tape so there’s a lot of bubblegum music and Motown like The Archies, The Hollies and the Supremes. It’s like hanging out with grade school friends and listening to their record collections<\/a>. Unfortunately, a playlist was never written out so I’ll have to give it a listen and add it as an addendum to this post.<\/p>\n
