{"id":21226,"date":"2016-10-20T05:14:21","date_gmt":"2016-10-20T09:14:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/willceau.com\/news\/?p=21226"},"modified":"2019-06-20T21:03:56","modified_gmt":"2019-06-21T01:03:56","slug":"zombie-in-affinity-designer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/willceau.com\/news\/2016\/10\/20\/zombie-in-affinity-designer\/","title":{"rendered":"Zombie in Affinity Designer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Zombie in Affinity Designer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/30433786155\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"zombie\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/c4.staticflickr.com\/6\/5609\/30433786155_99fc6ba99f.jpg?resize=500%2C500&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Zombie in Affinity Designer\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Here is yet another Halloween Horror Head I created in <a href=\"https:\/\/affinity.serif.com\/en-us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Affinity Designer<\/em>.<\/a> This guy is a <em>zombie,<\/em> but not the flesh-eating variety that first hit cinema screens back in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=0TAGtIQvebs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">1968<\/a> and seem to have never left. I meant this guy as more of a traditional zombie of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zombie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Voodoo legend<\/a> and very old movies that once played regularly on UHF television stations. Sure, he&#8217;s a member of the living dead, but his existence is a hellish one of indentured servitude even after he has expired. That is the sad and miserable thing about zombies &#8212; there is no such thing as retirement. Always at somebody&#8217;s beck and call. Worked his whole life; died, and then he has to work his after-life until his body falls apart.<\/p>\n<p>I worked on this creature over a couple of early mornings as I was waiting for my son to be picked up for school. This fellow came out a lot better than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/2511348433\/in\/photolist-Nnk7jX-4PVjoV-pwaATe-ppn8c1-ixKWDK-dFPdce-cUivmL-fn8NJR-6dtCgN-5yhejA-5jPnfy-4t1ZPJ-4tCHkt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">my attempt<\/a> at vector walking corpses I tried in <em>Illustrator<\/em> a few years back. <em>Affinity Designer<\/em> seems to make it more fun.
