It\u00a0had been a busy day, and I\u00a0wanted to make something that was special and out of the ordinary, but easy. This fit the bill. In the time it takes to cook the linguine, the shrimp can be saut\u00e9ed with the garlic, then\u00a0tossed with the pasta. Add a salad and a good\u00a0loaf of bread, and you&#8217;re all set.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3\/4 pound linguine<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons butter<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons olive oil<\/li>\n<li>4 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 pound medium shrimp, peeled and deveined<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 lemon, zested<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup lemon juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>In a large pot, boil water and cook linguine according to directions.<\/li>\n<li>In a large saut\u00e9 pan, melt the butter and olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the garlic stirring constantly, so it doesn&#8217;t burn for 1 minute. Add the shrimp, salt and pepper to the pan, stirring frequently until the shrimp turn pink &#8211; about 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Remove from heat and add the lemon zest, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper flakes.<\/li>\n<li>Drain the linguine, add to the saut\u00e9 pan, and stir to combine.
