In the latest installment of Monkey & Bird,<\/strong><\/em><\/a> the talented Tina G<\/strong> worked some of her raster and vector magic in both Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I needed a label for our baboon’s bottle of booze so she did a little research on liquor labels and cooked up the image above. Of course, during the creation of the final art, most of Tina’s handiwork was obscured by shadows. That’s why I posted it up above in all of its clear and unshaded glory!<\/p>\n

I created the bottle in Illustrator using that program’s 3D Revolve<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n

With this method, I only had to draw<\/em> the bottle once and duplicate it as many times as needed. I was able to rotate each duplicate separately as well. Poof!<\/strong> –\u00a0 instant armload of bottles for my cartoon baboon.<\/p>\n

Cheating?<\/strong><\/em> If I was drawing the bottle by hand, I would have hauled out the rulers, French curves and ellipse templates. I see this as being the same thing. It’s drafting or mechanical drawing.<\/p>\n

Tina also created the wallpaper being that retro patterns are her specialty She built the pattern in Illustrator, and I imported it into Photoshop.<\/p>\n
