Originally I wanted to do an old-time, pulp magazine cover similar to <em>The Shadow<\/em> or<em> The Spider, Master of Men<\/em>, and I still want to chase down something like that, but it was a struggle. Then I ended up poking around some sketches and doodles I did in Designer back when I first got it. I opened up a file that had a detective-looking character that I had played with, abandoned and forgot. I started playing around with it again, and\u00a0<i>Szpieg <\/i>was the result.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><i>\u00a0Szpieg<\/i> is Polish for <i>spy.<\/i> I thought the word\u00a0<em>spy<\/em> being only three letters long would be kind of boring and wouldn&#8217;t fit the space too well so I looked for a foreign word that looked more interesting. I was going to go with the French\u00a0<i>espion,<\/i> but the word\u00a0<i>szpieg<\/i> looks and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wordhippo.com\/what-is\/the-meaning-of\/polish-word-58ddcb68c4ab2c6c31790410fd23e1a50e2ee423.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sounds<\/a> so much more interesting.\u00a0<em>Dzi\u0119kuj\u0119, Poland!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Originally, I was going to go with the Polish word\u00a0<em>szpiegowa\u0107<\/em> which looks and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wordhippo.com\/what-is\/the-meaning-of\/polish-word-43236d9302f1e693bba21d87a3721e3f7a8f8ca6.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sounds<\/a> fantastic, but further research revealed the word to be a verb.\u00a0<em>Szpiegowa\u0107<\/em> means<em> to act as a spy, <\/em>and I needed a noun.
