I’ve put another sketchbook to rest. I’ve had this one for a while. I bought it from Dick Blick<\/em> back in 2012. I think I bought it because I thought an 8 inch by 10 inch pad would be a nice compact size to carry on a commute but not too small. I think I used it, put it somewhere and forgot about it. I recently uncovered it and decided to polish it off. Waste not, want not.<\/p>\n

It was a serviceable sketchbook. The paper was all right for wet and dry media.\u00a0If it’s on sale, I may grab another one, but it only had 70 pages<\/em>. Typical sketchbooks have 100 pages or at least they did. This seems to be the sad state of the world as candy bars and cereal boxes shrink while costing the same price. And so it goes with sketchbooks as well. Sigh.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t a Sketchbook from Hell<\/em>,<\/a> but it wasn’t necessarily Heavenly<\/em><\/a> either. It was a typical sketchbook where I worked out ideas or scratched down the occasional note. It did have the initial plans of the incredible Halloween Pinball Machine Costume<\/a>.<\/em> Otherwise, it was mainly doodles and some scratched out thoughts I made\u00a0on the couch while watching cinematic masterpieces like Countess Dracula<\/em>\u00a0or during the bus or subway ride to work.<\/p>\n
