Two years ago, they were wreaking havoc with my basil plants, now the birds are hogging the figs on the lower branches of the tree in our backyard. There are plenty<\/em> of figs for the neighbors and our feathered friends – most of which are located on the top branches, out of reach unless you can fly. This is WAR!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I washed out several empty water bottles, cut them in half, used a hole punch to make holes near the open end of the bottle. I slipped the bottle over a few of the almost ripe figs, and threaded twine through the punched holes to hold it in place.
