If you haven&#8217;t checked out the Internet Archive,<strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archive.org\/index.php\">GO THERE NOW!!!<\/a> <\/strong>It is a treasure trove of public domain content! There is tons of audio, and video and it&#8217;s all <em><strong>FREE!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s feature is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0058954\/\">The Beach Girls and the Monster.<\/a> <\/strong><em>Does a feature need any thing more than those two basic elements?<\/em> It&#8217;s sort of a less ambitious, West Coast version of the greatest beach party movie ever made in <em>Connecticut<\/em><strong> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ur5tN2tlpJo\">The Horror of Party Beach<\/a>! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Beach Girls<\/strong><\/em> is a short film with a sort of<em> Scooby Doo<\/em> plot, and it&#8217;s a trashy-fun time waster, but I recommend it for the opening sequence where four buxom beach beauties try to madly improvise beach party dances to the strains of <em><strong>Dance, Baby Dance &#8211; <\/strong><\/em> a Beach Boys\/Jan &amp; Dean surf tune knockoff\u00c2\u00a0 credited in the titles to none other than <strong>Frank Sinatra, Jr!<\/strong> I could imagine young Frank telling his Old Man that the <em>crooning stuff was washed up<\/em> and the <em><strong>surf scene is where it&#8217;s at!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>As for the beach girls, I really love the women in this movie. The mold must have gotten busted some time in the mid-60s &#8217;cause they don&#8217;t make &#8217;em like that no more! I especially like the third girl from the left in the opening sequence. She&#8217;s a lousy dancer, but who cares?<\/p>\n<p>Great, now the theme song is stuck in my head.
