I never thought I would see it happen because it always seemed busy particularly the drive through, but I guess the real estate became too valuable for a one-story burger franchise. Condos will probably go in.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"McGone\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/51222170221\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51222170221_e67c3c56a5_z.jpg?resize=640%2C360&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"McGone\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>I&#8217;d hate to join the chorus of people who reflexively despise McDonalds, but I am not going to miss this <em>Mickey D&#8217;s. <\/em>I was never impressed with the service the few times I went there, and it&#8217;s enormous parking lot became a hangout for drug addicts. Good riddance, I say.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, now the unlicensed pharmaceutical sales representatives and their customers will have to loiter around the other corporately owned, retail establishments that the new Philadelphians seem to favor. <em>Starbuck&#8217;s<\/em> is a block away, and you don&#8217;t even have to buy anything to cop a squat in their toilet. <em>Enjoy!<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The McDonalds restaurant at Broad and Carpenter has been demolished.
