I struggled with this one a bit because I watched the movie and kept referring back to the original design by effect artist <a href=\"https:\/\/dangerousminds.net\/comments\/paul_blaisdell_the_forgotten_b-movie_monster_maker_of_hollywood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Blaisdell <\/a>which were magnificent considering his paltry budget. It just wasn&#8217;t happening so I stopped looking at the movie and the stills online and worked on my impression of the monster. As it worked out, my version sort of looks like a mash-up between the <em>Saucer Men<\/em> and another Blaisdell design, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0050957\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>She-Creature<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This, like all of my <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/albums\/72157711550014901\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Halloween Heads<\/em><\/a> except for one, was produced in my favorite vector art program <em>Affinity Designer<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My latest Halloween Head is based on the alien invaders from the drive-in, schlock classic Invasion of the Saucer Men released in 1957.
