This is back when images from actual celluloid film were projected on the screen. That meant that the viewer had to deal with dust, scratches and the occasional dancing hair that got caught in the gate of the projector. It also meant that the audience would occasionally have to scream <strong>FOCUS<\/strong> if the projectionist wasn&#8217;t paying attention and the film was out of focus.<br \/>\n<a title=\"Eric's Mark I\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/27942027111\/in\/album-72157719803124628\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/7634\/27942027111_b18da8bcb7_z.jpg?resize=640%2C423&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Eric's Mark I\" width=\"640\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Here is <em>Eric&#8217;s Mark I<\/em> a few years after <em>Being There<\/em> had its run in movie theaters. I think it was a walk down to a single basement theater.
