Has this hypnotist been cozying up to world leaders and controlling them for decades? With the way things are going, it doesn&#8217;t seem like such a preposterous idea.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Worlds Unknown No. 8\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/51914813047\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51914813047_af14481944_m.jpg?resize=162%2C240&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Worlds Unknown No. 8\" width=\"162\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>The hypnosis ad appeared in <em>Worlds Unknown<\/em> No. 8 published by Marvel Comics in 1974. It was an adaptation of Ray Harryhausen&#8217;s <em>The Golden Voyage of Sinbad<\/em> released that same year. The movie was terrific, and it was a perfect fit for comics. Sinbad could have been a continuing character in the tradition of <em>Conan the Barbarian<\/em> as the cover trumpets, but it was not to be. There was this adaptation and a single issue version of <em>The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad<\/em> published by Marvel in <em>Marvel Spotlight<\/em> about a year later and that was it for Sinbad at the company. Marvel did not bother with 1977&#8217;s <em>Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger<\/em>.
