Perched high up on a very tall pole above Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia is this sign for a long gone store that looks remarkably untouched by the elements. It&#8217;s not broken or weathered, and the colors look as bright as if it were just installed. Say what you will about the business practices of the old rental shop, but there is no denying that they had a great sign manufacturer!<!--more--><br \/>\n<a title=\"Blockbuster sign on Passyunk\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/52183007591\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/52183007591_805cce28f5_z.jpg?resize=640%2C531&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Blockbuster sign on Passyunk\" width=\"640\" height=\"531\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>Here is another shot taken from a moving car of the same sign being mercilessly hammered by the sun yet the blue and yellow pigment refuse to fade! I think it will remain untouched by time like some sort of South Philly Sphinx until it is deliberately demolished.
