This was a sketch I did in a sketchbook using my former weapon of choice<\/a> way back in 1986. I was hanging out with Dan Platt <\/a>who was trying to visualize the legendary Jersey Devil in clay. He kept reading and rereading eyewitness accounts of the creature, but the farmers and yokels who spied the beast back before electricity and indoor plumbing weren’t the most eloquent witnesses. I thought about it and worked on a few sketches making the Devil more demon-like and going for a sickly, corrupted, asymmetrical look.
