The company uses a number of techniques to make these executives more effective leaders. One of these techniques is the\u00c2\u00a0<em>visual metaphor,<\/em> and that\u00e2\u20ac&#x2122;s where I enter the picture. The client is asked to provide a brief three-step metaphor explaining where they were, where they are now and where they want to be. It gets handed to me, and I have to turn it into a three panel sequential illustration. Sometimes the metaphors are highly detailed, and other times they are nebulously vague.<\/p>\n<p>This individual was pretty specific, and yes these illustrations are all supposed to be part of a sequence. In the beginning, he&#8217;s dealing with his job responsibilities at the frenetic pace of a plate spinner. (Cue the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Zhoos1oY404\">Ed Sullivan<\/a> intro and Saber Dance music!) Next, he&#8217;s running an emergency room. In the third, he&#8217;s a cowboy. I&#8217;m not sure why.
