If you so desired, you can enjoy almost fifty years of dumb questions, dumber answers, hosts with personal space issues and regrettable fashions like this man&#8217;s magnificent mullet 24 hours a day! Sadly, the episodes are liberally interspersed with pharmaceutical and political ads making the most cringe-inducing moments of the show seem not so bad.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\n<a title=\"The Sex Perils of Paulette (1965)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/willceau\/54063861152\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" data-flickr-embed=\"true\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54063861152_a24435e0a4_c.jpg?resize=640%2C359&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"The Sex Perils of Paulette (1965)\" width=\"640\" height=\"359\" \/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>There is a lot of stuff I watch on my <em>Roku<\/em> that I could never recommend like <em>Family Feud<\/em> or something like Doris Wishman&#8217;s\u00a0 opus from 1965 <em>The Sex Perils of Paulette <\/em>pictured above. As they say, <em>&#8220;Your mileage may vary.&#8221;<\/em> I watch these old things not so much for entertainment, but as a window on an earlier time. The film is the usual sex romp or <em>dirty picture<\/em> that Wishman used to crank out for grindhouse theaters which catered to creepy guys usually dressed in raincoats. She operated on slim to nonexistent budgets so she shot on location in real places as opposed to sets. It&#8217;s a piece of crap, but the real star is New York City circa 1965.
