I made it out of curiosity to see what all the fuss was about. The texture of the bread is soft, with tangy cheddar, and a kick from the cayenne. It&#8217;s delicious right out of the oven, or toasted! <!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 cups flour<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon baking powder<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon garlic powder<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 cup shredded sharp cheddar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup butter, melted<\/li>\n<li>1 large egg<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon butter, melted for brushing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Preheat oven to 350\u00ba, grease a 9&#8243; x 5&#8243; loaf pan.<\/li>\n<li>In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, salt, and cayenne pepper. Add shredded cheddar, and toss in flour mixture to coat.<\/li>\n<li>In a small bowl, whisk milk, butter, and egg. Add to flour mixture and mix with a spoon until just combined. Smooth out the top.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 40 to 45 minutes testing with a toothpick. Brush with 1 tablespoon melted butter.
