\"\"I’m having the beast<\/em> of times with my Pen+Gear Sketch Diary<\/em> sketchbook<\/a>, a gem my wife Tina unearthed for me at our local Walmart. The sturdy paper withstands the rough handling of my pencils and erasers, while its surface handles the ink from my Sailor and Pentel pens better than I\u2019d expect particularly for a discount sketchbook.<\/p>\n

This scene, likely set in a gritty punk club, unfolds from the Punk Rock Girl\u2019s<\/a> perspective. Her incessant \u201cWhatsamatter, Honey?\u201d<\/em> draws an unexpected response. Larry Hughes, harboring a demonic presence, lets the mask slip, revealing his true self\u2014the Teenage Beast<\/strong>! All hell is about to break loose.<\/p>\n

I’m still working on the story and trying to figure out how to tie it all up into a satisfying ending. In the meantime, I am enjoying working out these illustrations.<\/p>\n

I used to feel discouraged by drawings that didn\u2019t meet my expectations, but I\u2019ve come to see them as necessary steps toward the good ones. That realization, like a lightbulb finally clicking on, took time\u2014but I\u2019m glad it finally did.<\/p>\n
