Good way to empty out the fruit bowl on the kitchen table and have something delicious to snack on! <!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>one crust pie dough<\/li>\n<li>2 MacIntosh apples<\/li>\n<li>3 Granny Smith apples<\/li>\n<li>2 pears<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup cranberries &#8211; optional<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 cup cinnamon sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 tablespoons butter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Roll out dough and place in an 8&#8243; tart pan, trim off the excess.<\/li>\n<li>Peel MacIntosh apples, cut into chunks, and place in a pot with an inch of water. Let them simmer over medium heat until softened like an applesauce. Drain well and let cool.<\/li>\n<li>Peel the remaining apples and the pears. Quarter, remove core and slice thin.<\/li>\n<li>Preheat oven to 375\u00ba.<\/li>\n<li>Spread the applesauce on the bottom of the tart pan.<\/li>\n<li>Fan the apple slices around the outside of the pan, then fan the pears on the inside. Toss in a few cranberries if desired.<\/li>\n<li>Roll out the remainder of the dough and make the lattice.<\/li>\n<li>Dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Bake for 1 hour.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After baking dozens of cookies for Christmas, a meat pie, and a turkey the size of a Volkswagen &#8211; I decided to make a tart.
