The writing of my Teenage Beast<\/em> novel continues as I work my way into the second draft. I’m spending my first waking hour working away at it. It’s becoming more cohesive, and I’ll get there.<\/p>\n

Slow and steady wins the race.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At night, I crack open the sketchbooks and visit parts of the story in pencil and ink. I continue to develop my approach to how I am going to build shades and the quality of light in black ink.<\/p>\n

I moved on to a small, 5.5-inch x 8.5-inch Pen+Gear<\/em> sketch pad that Tina scored me from Wal-Mart. It’s a surprisingly decent sketchbook, with paper that feels and acts like a more expensive Canson mixed-media pad. It takes ink very well.<\/p>\n

I thought I would share a couple of recent drawings I did. Above is the beast in mid-transformation. Below is the proprietress of the punk rock boutique SPAZ having an unpleasant time.<\/p>\n
