A few weeks ago, we lost a good neighbor. Lydia was 93 years old and had lived her entire life in a three story brick row home on our street. Her house was as neat as a pin, she did all of her own cooking, and walked three blocks to church every week. We had a cookie exchange at Christmas, Lydia’s biscotti was legendary! While I suppose you could say that 93 is a pretty good run, I’ll miss her. Another of the old guard in the neighborhood is gone.<\/p>\n

Her relatives have begun the daunting task of clearing out nine decades of her belongings from the house. They gave me this tablecloth, which I fell in love with on sight. I did some research, it’s probably from the early 1950s based on the whimsical subject matter, no sewn in tag, and the 4+ color combination.<\/p>\n

The images are lovely – it’s like a children’s book printed on fabric!<\/p>\n

The colors, the stores, the shoppers, it’s so much fun to look at!<\/p>\n

It’s nice to have something to remember Lydia by – I’ll treasure it always.<\/p>\n
