\"\"<\/a>Here’s a picture of the photographer John Capewell<\/strong> of Westville, New Jersey sitting with his wife Ella<\/strong> in the shade of a tree. John and Ella look very young in this picture compared to others in the collection. I assumed it was a picture from when they were courting, and I was going to title this post Young<\/em> Sweethearts<\/em>, but I had a closer look at the negative.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>They are both wearing wedding rings and are making a point of displaying them for posterity.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As with all of the photographs in the Capewell Collection,<\/a> I placed the 5\u00e2\u20ac\u00b3 x 7\u00e2\u20ac\u00b3 glass negative on a lightbox and shot them with a digital camera locked down on a tripod. The \u00e2\u20ac\u0153processing\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/em> was done digitally on a Mac using Adobe Photoshop.<\/strong><\/p>\n
