Easter Photo Restoration

The problem with old color photographs is they fade. Here we have photo of Joe (center) and his siblings, John and Karen – looking like set extras on Mad Men.

Here’s the original scan of Sally and Bobby Draper’s friends.

The first order of business is Image>Adjustment>Levels, which corrects the overall tonal problems in an image.

BurnTool Then I turned to the Burn Tool to minimize the sun flare in the upper right hand corner.

The next step is Image>Mode>LabColor>Curves to boost the color, then back to Image>Mode>RGB. And just like that – an old snapshot returns to it’s former glory!

Nicely done! Not that you’d ever hold ‘that’ picture over him… 🙂

    I couldn’t – he still dresses like that! 😉
