A Capewell Descendant Reaches Out
One of the things I’ve said about the internet and our website in particular is that there is always a new reader out there somewhere. Even if there is an article I published years ago, it’s always brand new to … Continue reading
Things to do about four decades ago…
These ads were on the back of an article in what was probably The Courier Post that I thought was very important at the time. This was before the home video market took off and not everybody had cable television … Continue reading

Jersey Tomatoes
It’s officially summer when Jersey tomatoes show up on 9th Street! I bought some of these perfect, imperfect beauties this morning while shopping for tomorrow night’s dinner.

Pink Zeppelin – The Vector Version
IN THE FUTURE… is how these things usually start, but this terrible tale takes place IN THE PAST… A nuclear conflagration ended the world as we knew it in 1980. Hellfire rained from the sky leaving pitiful few to battle it out … Continue reading

Just Like Heaven
A year ago I was polishing off what turned out to be one of my all-time favorite sketchbooks which I referred to as The Sketchbook from Heaven. I tried to find or, in some cases, make a replacement, but nothing … Continue reading

Sketchbook from Heaven • 1/22/2017 – 5/7/2017
Usually when I finish off a sketchbook, I have either a feeling of accomplishment because I’ve managed a few competent scribbles within or relief in that I finally put an especially irritating pad that I made the mistake of purchasing … Continue reading

Rumble in the Record Store
Yeah, I’m back again with another doodle in the cheap sketchbook. What can I say? This torch that I found cannot be drowned. It seems that I haven’t enjoyed doodling this much since I was about five years old. Back … Continue reading

The Sketchbook from Heaven
In the past I have written about sketchbooks I have bought that seemed like a good idea at the point of purchase but failed miserably when put into practice. Either the sketchbooks looked handsome on the shelf and proved unwieldy … Continue reading

Leaving Parts of Atlantic City in Atlantic City
During a recent visit to Atlantic City, I stepped out upon the balcony of our hotel and was visited by a breathtaking sunset complete with stunning shafts of light piercing the clouds. It begged to be photographed. Sadly I was … Continue reading

Atlantic City
We spent a few days at the beach in AC – the waves were fantastic for body surfing, and the boardwalk was a splendid spot for people watching.

Storm Pipe
Here’s a photo I took as part of an art school course during the Fall of 1982. It’s a storm pipe somewhere in the vicinity of the pond in Westville, New Jersey if I remember correctly. It was in-between a … Continue reading

The Fall of 1982
I think this is somewhere near Gateway Regional High School late in 1982. I shot this for a photo elective course I was required to take as an illustration major at the Philadelphia College of Art. I think the skeletal … Continue reading

Up on the Circle
The following frames are among my favorite shots from this Photo Elective series. They are photos of a defunct greasy spoon known as the Murphy House that sat before a swampy marsh up in the area where Westville ended.

In My Room
Here’s another Photo Elective shot that seems more like an act of desperation than an intentional attempt at art.
