This is a fascinating curio from the late 1940s that I discovered on the Internet Archive channel on my Roku box. It’s a low budget Western featuring an all black cast and starring The King of the Jukebox — Louis Jordan! The plot is a threadbare cliche about a struggling ranch and unscrupulous characters trying to steal the deed, but the reason to watch it is the wall-to-wall soundtrack and musical performances provided by Jordan and his Tympany Five.
You can watch Look-Out Sister! embedded above, and if that doesn’t work for you, head over to the Internet Archive and watch or download it for FREE!
Definitely some great music!
Thanks! That’s what hooked me into watching it!
