An Offer I Couldn’t Refuse

I’ve used Strathmore and Canson mixed media sketchbooks and have enjoyed using them, but when I saw that Dick Blick was having a BOGO (buy one, get one) sale on Fabriano 9 inch by 12 inch mixed media pads, I decided to buy a pair. You don’t see 50% off of anything particularly in this economy!

So what’s the story with Fabriano?

Created in 1264, Fabriano is the oldest European paper mill. It is located in the town of Fabriano, 45 minutes away from Ancona, a treasured seashore resort on the Adriatic sea. Not only did the mill invent the watermark (still used in paper and bank notes today) and the surface sizing (dear to all watercolorists), the town was also awarded the UNESCO creative classification in 2013. Join Leonardo and Raffaello in proudly using Fabriano papers.

Once I finish up a Canson pad I am currently using, I will give the 1264 pad a whirl. I hope I like it because now I have two of them. I guess if it was good enough for Leonardo and Raffaello…

I think the sale goes on through February 2025, and it varies per store. Check out your local Dick Blick.
