On the Back Porch

Seated on the back porch of what I guess is the Capewell residence in Westville, NJ is the photographer John Capewell, John, Jr. and I’m guessing it’s Ella Capewell on the right.  She moved as the photographic plate was being exposed and is a blur of motion. I’m afraid I have no idea who the older man on the left is. John, Jr. was born in 1906 or ’07 so that will give you an idea as to the age of this photograph.

As with all of the photographs in the Capewell Collection, I placed the 5″ x 7″ glass negative on a lightbox and shot them with a digital camera locked down on a tripod. The “processing” was done digitally on a Mac using Adobe Photoshop.
