A cookie jar classic, these chocolate chip cookies are wonderfully soft and chewy. They’re a favorite in our house!
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 12 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350º. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl, set aside.
- Put butter and sugars in the bowl of an electric mixer, mix on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Reduce speed to low and add vanilla extract and eggs, then add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips.
- On parchment lined baking sheets, drop heaping tablespoons of dough two inches apart. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until edges are golden. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool. Store in an airtight container. Makes 4 dozen.
