The McDonalds restaurant at Broad and Carpenter has been demolished. I never thought I would see it happen because it always seemed busy particularly the drive through, but I guess the real estate became too valuable for a one-story burger franchise. Condos will probably go in.
I’d hate to join the chorus of people who reflexively despise McDonalds, but I am not going to miss this Mickey D’s. I was never impressed with the service the few times I went there, and it’s enormous parking lot became a hangout for drug addicts. Good riddance, I say.
Of course, now the unlicensed pharmaceutical sales representatives and their customers will have to loiter around the other corporately owned, retail establishments that the new Philadelphians seem to favor. Starbuck’s is a block away, and you don’t even have to buy anything to cop a squat in their toilet. Enjoy!
I couldn’t live there… Just sayin… Admire y’all for sticking in there.
It’s getting tougher.
