A buddy of mine who has loved and collected comics his whole life continues to acquire the things he desires. He gets regular shipments of old comics that he finds at prices he just can’t resist. I guess he plans to take them with him as he is entombed in a pyramid composed of comic-book long boxes.
His latest acquisition is a 70 year old curiosity published by Harvey Comics.
The comic came complete with the two pairs of MAGIC SPECS (pictured at the top) to complete the 3D effect. The comic is run-of-the-mill jungle adventure with a few dinosaurs tossed in. The story and the headache inducing 3D effect didn’t beg for re-readings which may explain why the book and specs are in such great shape particularly after all of this time.
Oh man, those things sucked! And were headache inducing!!!
It’s a gimmick that they keep revisiting.
