Halloween Heads • The Mummy

I know Halloween is 184 days away, but being a dyed-in-the-wool horror movie fan, I always seem to be in the Halloween Spirit!

I Was a Vector FrankensteinI started doing my series of Halloween Head vector illustrations almost 20 years ago with a simplified Frankenstein Monster done in Adobe Illustrator. I really started to chase down my vectorized villains and other digital designs with the release of the superlative Affinity Designer a little over ten years ago. Some of these monsters fall together fairly quickly while others are a bit of a struggle. Such is the case with The Mummy of which I have had a number of false starts. My gallery of rogues demanded an ancient Egyptian still alive over the millennia, and I think I may have finally got him.

Most of this illustration has been cobbled together in Affinity Designer with a bit of my favorite photo editor Affinity Photo for elements in the background.

ADDENDUM

I guess I just can’t leave well enough alone. Below is a darker variation on today’s Mummy illustration. Generally, I work on these things on a small laptop, but when I start to stare at it on a 27-inch screen, I see about a million things I want to change.

So here is the dark variation. The guy is in an underground tomb after all!

Halloween Head • The Mummy - Dark Variation Now I have to figure out what monster is next.
