The writing of my Teenage Beast novel continues as I work my way into the second draft. I’m spending my first waking hour working away at it. It’s becoming more cohesive, and I’ll get there.
Slow and steady wins the race.
At night, I crack open the sketchbooks and visit parts of the story in pencil and ink. I continue to develop my approach to how I am going to build shades and the quality of light in black ink.
I moved on to a small, 5.5-inch x 8.5-inch Pen+Gear sketch pad that Tina scored me from Wal-Mart. It’s a surprisingly decent sketchbook, with paper that feels and acts like a more expensive Canson mixed-media pad. It takes ink very well.
I thought I would share a couple of recent drawings I did. Above is the beast in mid-transformation. Below is the proprietress of the punk rock boutique SPAZ having an unpleasant time.
What is Teenage Beast?
It’s a coming-of-age horror story about teenagers, punk rock, a rust-belt town, ancient evil and one Friday night in 1978 that will change everything.

Patience is the key!
I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks!
